Art Supply Haul

This post is completely my opinion, and does not contain affiliate links. I was in now way discounted or reimbursed for reviewing the items below.
Hey everyone! I'm finally getting around to showing you all the art supplies that I ordered from Dick Blick about a month ago. Dick Blick has some really great prices, so I was able to get a bunch of stuff for way less than if I'd bought it at Hobby Lobby, Micheal's, or even Guiry's art supply store.

Quite a lot of stuff, huh? Let's take a look at the drawing pencils and blending stumps, first.

Sketches and Watercolors (Dec, Jan, Feb)

2/13/2016

Since Winter break ended, I haven't been doing a lot of art. Not just because I've  been busy with school (which I have, actually) but also because my sketchbook is full! I use my sketchbook not only for sketches, but for watercolors as well -  like the following one.

Unfortunately, it's not the best for watercolors. It's nice sketch paper, but not nearly heavy enough to support a good watercolor picture. The pages get warped, the paint breeds through, and many nice watercolor techniques cannot be used because of how flimsy the paper is.

New Year's Resolutions: 2016

1/1/2016

Happy New Year, everyone! Goodbye 2015, hello 2016! I have to say that I'm both sad and glad to see 2015 go. There was so much in 2015, both bad and good, and now nothing can change that. Now we can leave it all behind us and resolve to take on the new year. It's full of possibility, laying ahead of us ready to be painted with the colors we choose. A brand-new, pure-white, fresh start just waiting to see what we'll do...

In 2016, many people are resolving to throw out their bad habits, and bring in new ones with the new year. I, however, never quite understood the whole "New Year Resolution" thing. Observing other people made it seem that resolutions never change anything. They would set sky-high, idealistic goals, and then find them overwhelming. When they couldn't complete everything, they'd give up entirely. I know that's not the case for everyone, but admit it - that happens a lot. :P

DIY Gift Ideas for Tween and Teen Girls

12/10/2015

Christmas is nearly upon us, and it's at the peak of gift-buying season. I love getting people Christmas gifts, but being a student means that I don't have a ton of money to spend on them. DIY gifts are more personable, anyway. What's more awesome than a completely one-of-a-kind gift? These ideas would be loved by most teen and tween girls, and they won't cost a fortune! Click on the pictures for links to the tutorials. :)
